The regulation allowing real estate sales contracts to be executed by notaries has been postponed until July 1, 2023.

“The Presidential Decree Extending the Provision in Temporary Article 21 of the Notary Law No. 1512 on the Establishment of the Information System Envisaged in Article 60/3 and 61/A of the Same Law Until July 1, 2023 was published in today’s Official Gazette.

According to the decree, the implementation date of the provision that enables notaries to carry out real estate transactions from January 1, 2023, introduced by the Law Amending the Judges and Prosecutors Law and Some Other Laws, also known as the “6th Judicial Reform Package” and published in the Official Gazette on June 28, 2021, has been postponed until July 1, 2023.

As a result, notaries will be able to make a promise to sell real estate contracts from July 1, 2023, record such contracts in the land registry by using the land registry information system upon the request of one of the parties and upon payment of the fees and expenses, and execute real estate sales contracts.”
